An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

A driver from North Perth is facing charges after a collision involving a pedestrian.Perth County OPP and EMS crews responded on July 22 just after 3:30 p.m. after receiving a report of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on Davidson Avenue North in Listowel. The investigation indicated that the vehicle collided with the pedestrian.The pedestrian was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. As a result, a 52-year-old resident of Listowel has been charged with careless driving causing bodily harm.The accused will be appearing in court at a later date to answer to the charge.
