Health Unit seeks dog involved in Stratford biting incident

Huron Perth Public Health is looking to locate the owner of a dog that bit a person near the Stratford Courthouse on Monday.

The Health Unit says the incident occurred between 3 and 4 p.m. on July 24 at the back entrance of 1 Huron Street.

The dog involved is described as a mixed breed, weighing 60 to 70 pounds, with short hair, a black body, grey on the face, tan legs and a white triangle on the forehead above the eyes.

The female owner appeared to be in her 30s, with dark brown hair in a bun. They say she was wearing sunglasses, pink bohemian-style pants and sandals.

HPPH is trying to verify if the dog is up-to-date on its rabies vaccinations. Otherwise, the victim may need to complete a series of rabies shots.
