Teen driver charged after serious Stratford collision

A 19-year-old is facing impaired driving charges after a serious collision in Stratford on Saturday morning.

Emergency services responded to a call of a head-on collision on Downie Street around 3 a.m. on July 22.

According to Stratford Police, a pick up truck collided head on with a car.

The 31-year-old driver of the car was transported to Stratford hospital, and later transferred to London, where he remains in critical condition.

Police say the truck driver, a 19-year-old of Perth South, was arrested at the scene for impaired driving and also faces various charges for operation causing bodily harm.

He received an immediate 90-day licence suspension and is scheduled to appear in court in August.
