OPP busy with marine related incidents

Grey-Bruce OPP officers were kept busy with a lengthy list of marine incidents recently.

On July 29, OPP Marine Unit officers responded to calls for a disabled vessel, a sea doo taking on water and a capsized sailboat.

On July 30, calls included 2 missing children at Sauble Beach. The Marine Unit patrolled the water, and the children were located safely on shore. Additionally, officers responded to calls for 7 paddle boarders out on the lake from Tobermory without life jackets.

Luckily there were no injuries or deaths as a result of any of these incidents. Police are reminding everyone to wear life jackets always when out on the water, and for paddle boarders to also have a sounding alert device present.
