High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

The South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is looking for information regarding a fire on Centennial Avenue.Police said they, alongside the Walkerton Fire Department, responded to the fire at an outbuilding on the property at 2:01 a.m. on Tuesday. Police confirmed that the fire was contained to the outbuilding, and at this time there is no damage estimate.No injuries were reported.The investigation is still in the early stages.The OPP are interested in viewing any video, including dash cam video, of the area between 12:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. that day.Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
