Information needed after dog bite in Chesley

Local health officials are hoping someone has information about a biting incident in Chesley August 17 that could help the victim avoid post-exposure rabies treatment.

Grey Bruce Public Health is seeking the public’s assistance in finding the owner of a medium-sized dog involved, which could be a blue heeler/shepherd mix.

A man was bitten during a dog fight on Chesley's main street as he attempted to separate the unleashed dog from his friend’s dog.

Grey Bruce Public Health staff needs to confirm the dog is not infectious with rabies. Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to call Grey Bruce Public Health at 519-376-9420 ext. 1355.
