Saugeen Shores updating Strategic Plan

Residents of Saugeen Shores have a chance to discuss the proposed update to the Strategic Plan.

People can provide input through online surveys, or at pop up sessions. The first in person event is Friday, August 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Southampton Coliseum. The second will be held during the FireFit Championship at Port Elgin Harbour on Saturday, August 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Strategic plan sets out the town's vision, mission and values, as well as its long-term priorities. It's revised to help reflect the priorities of each new council. A consultant will help the town gather public opinion, and then prepare a draft plan for council's consideration.

The online survey is open until September 15. For more information, go to https://www.saugeenshores.ca/strategicplan/

“This document sets benchmarks for the Town’s work over several years,” said Mayor Luke Charbonneau. “It allows the organization to work towards common goals and provides another way for the Town to show accountability to community members and stakeholders.”
