Brussels native helps power team to fast-pitch title

Brussels native Ty Sebastian helped power his team to a Canadian Men's Fastpitch Championship.

Sebastian, playing and pitching for the title-winning Toronto Batsmen, was named the MVP of the tournament in the round robin and playoffs.

The Batsmen managed to take down the three-time defending champion Galway Hitmen in the 2023 Softball Canada Senior Men’s Fastpitch Softball championships, by way of a 15-inning 1-0 shutout, the longest game in tournament history.

Sebastian threw a complete game in the final, throwing 138 of his 195 pitches for strikes and registering 22 strikeouts. He allowed 5 hits.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
