COVID-19 Outbreak declared at hospital

A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at the Palmerston and District Hospital.

North Wellington Healthcare confirmed that two inpatients and five staff tested positive.

Currently there will be no inpatient visiting permitted at PDH until the outbreak is declared over, apart from what NWH describes as "very limited, special circumstances."

The hospital is working with Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health (WDGPH) to respond to the outbreak.

PDH’s emergency department, diagnostic imaging, ambulatory care, and day surgery (not requiring hospital admission) services remain open. Masks are required while in the hospital.
