Perth County OPP release Labour Day traffic blitz results

Perth County OPP were busy on local roads during the Labour Day long weekend.

The Road Safety campaign ran from September 1-4. The campaign for the OPP across the province focused on the "Big 4" which are impaired driving, distracted driving, aggressive driving, and failure to wear a seatbelt.

Over the course of the campaign, Perth County OPP laid 269 speeding charges, 6 seatbelt charges and 7 for impaired driving for a total of 372 charges.

Officers also investigated six motor vehicle collisions. Three of the collisions had reported minor injuries.

The OPP says the Big 4 factors are the leading contributors to death, injury and property damage on Ontario roads and highways.
