Townships get new pumper truck to help local firefighters

The Townships of Huron-Kinloss and Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh are celebrating the addition of a new pumper truck.

The new state-of-the-art Dependable Spartan FC-94 Pumper Truck is now part of the Lucknow and District Fire Department.

A release states that the new truck "will play a pivotal role in safeguarding lives and property in the Lucknow and District Fire Department coverage area."

Key features of the new pumper truck include:

1. Advanced Firefighting Technology: Equipped with the latest firefighting technology, this pumper truck ensures that our firefighters have the tools they need to combat fires efficiently and safely.

2. Increased Water Capacity: The increased water capacity of the truck enables our firefighters to tackle fires of varying sizes and durations, offering enhanced protection to our community.

3. Enhanced Safety: The safety of our first responders is paramount. The new truck is designed with modern safety features to protect our firefighters during their crucial missions.

Michael Pahor, NWMO Site Director for South Bruce, was present for the pumper delivery. “We are pleased to support the municipality as they announce the acquisition of a critical piece of firefighting equipment. As an organization we prioritize public and employee safety and this investment into lifesaving equipment will help keep residents safe for now and years to come,” Pahor commented.

"We are grateful to NWMO for their support in providing us with the resources to enhance our firefighting capabilities," said Chris Cleave, Fire Chief. "This pumper truck represents a significant upgrade to our fleet and will enable us to respond to emergencies more effectively, ultimately ensuring the safety of our community members."
