Police charge two with trafficking in Bayfield

A drug trafficking investigation in Bayfield has led to charges for two people, and police recovering what they are calling over $7,000 worth of offence-related property.

According to Huron County OPP, an individual was located and arrested in the Municipality of Bluewater as a result of the investigation on September 28.

Following the arrest, a search warrant was executed at a residence on MacTavesh Street. A second person was arrested during the warrant execution.

Police say they seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, digital scales, packaging material, cell phones, and cash. The value of the drugs seized was estimated to be just $700.

As a result, a 41-year-old Arthur man faces trafficking charges as well as several counts of failing to comply with court orders. A 37-year-old Bluewater woman is also facing trafficking charges.

Both accused are scheduled to appear in Goderich court later this month.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
