Stratford woman wins $50K

A Stratford woman won $50,000 with an OLG Instant game.

Melanie Thompson, a wife and mother, says she has been playing the lottery for almost 30 years and has always been hoping for a big win.

One day, while playing in her car, she matched a number and was in disbelief when she saw the prize amount.

“I was convinced I scratched something wrong at first. When I showed my husband and pointed at the prize amount, he almost had a meltdown – he was so excited,” said Thompson while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings.

She plans to pay bills with her winnings and is considering taking a trip.

The winning ticket was purchased at Mobil on Ontario Road in Mitchell.
