Four charged in Georgian Bluffs busts

Four people have been arrested and charged in a drug trafficking investigation in Georgian Bluffs.

Grey Bruce OPP executed warrants on Thursday at three residences along Highway 6.

Police say they seized "a significant quantity of suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl and cocaine, in addition to scales, cellular phones and prohibited devices."

Among those prohibited devices were pairs of nunchucks, which resulted in weapons charges for a 38-year-old man from Georgian Bluffs and a 24-year-old woman from Owen Sound, along with several charges for drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.

OPP also charged a 21-years-old man of South Bruce Peninsula with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and three counts of possession of property obtained by crime; and a 38-year-old man from South Bruce Peninsula was charged with possession of fentanyl.

"These arrests will have a great impact on the community," said D/Sgt Jamie Blair in a release. "The Grey Bruce Community Street Crime Unit is committed to addressing the opioid crisis head-on and keeping our communities safe."

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
