South Bruce OPP reveal Operation Impact numbers

The South Bruce OPP have shared the results from their Operation Impact traffic campaign over the Thanksgiving weekend.

The campaign ran October 6-9, and targeted aggressive, distracted and alcohol or drug-impaired driving, as well as seat belt non-compliance. South Bruce OPP members charged 48 drivers during this important traffic safety initiative. 

35 speeding tickets were issued and 2 Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act charges were laid.

South Bruce OPP officers attended 2 motor vehicle collisions during the holiday weekend. Both were classified as property damage only.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
