Conducted Energy Weapon used in Huron County arrest

Provincial police say they had to use a taser on a man during an incident in Goderich late last month.

On September 20, Huron County OPP received multiple 911 calls, reporting a person on the Square in Goderich, displaying aggressive, assaultive behaviour. Callers said the person were smashing a garbage can against a storefront window.

Officers found the suspect, who was allegedly non-compliant with police and still showing aggressive behaviour. A Conducted Energy Weapon was used to gain control of the suspect.

A 31-year old Goderich man is facing charges of mischief under $5,000, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, and causing a disturbance.
