Charges laid following assault

Huron County OPP has charged one person following a recent assault.

On September 28 at 11:20 p.m., officers responded to a report of an assault that had just taken place between two females. Investigators determined the two females knew each other prior to the assault occurring.

The victim told police she was attacked by the other female after the suspect consumed alcohol. The victim did sustain injuries consistent with an assault. Police located and arrested the suspect, a 26-year-old from Sarnia.

The accused was charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm.

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for November 20, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
