Lucknow native Staehli captures Bronze at Pan Am Games

A Lucknow native is among the medalists at the Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile.

Julie-Anne Staehli secured the bronze medal in the women's 5,000-metre event.

“It went really fast in the final 800m — you just had to be there. I gave everything I had in the last straightaway, so no regrets,” Staehli said post-race. “This is a really great way to end the season. This was my first Pan American Games and it was just overall an incredible experience.”

Canada now has 37 medals at the current games, surpassing the 35 medals won by the Canadian team in the 2019 Pan Am Games in Peru.
