Charges laid following assault

Huron County OPP have laid seven charges against one person following an assault investigation.

At 7:23 p.m. on October 1, police were given information regarding an adult male who had allegedly committed a number of assaults at a residential address in Howick Township. Huron OPP officers responded immediately and met with the multiple victims involved.

Investigators say between 6:50 p.m. and 7:23 p.m. on October 1, the suspect assaulted three different victims. The accused also is alleged to have damaged property, as well.

As a result, a 45-year-old Howick Township resident is facing a total of seven charges, including sexual assault and three counts of assault with a weapon. The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for December 4th at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
