Council makes donation to hospital fundraising campaign

The Township of Perth South has made a financial contribution to a local hospital.

Council in Perth South presented a cheque to the Stratford General Hospital Foundation's "In Our Hands" ongoing fundraising campaign.

The cheque, for $12,500, was presented on November 7. The "In Our Hands" campaign is raising funds for equipment and facilities not supported by the Ontario Ministry of Health.

The Stratford General Hospital Foundation is one of four foundations which support the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance hospitals in Clinton, St. Marys, Seaforth and Stratford.

“We are extremely fortunate to have exceedingly capable health care workers in Perth County, but this contribution is directed at facilities and equipment at Stratford General, which are not supported by Ontario’s Ministry of Health” said Perth South Mayor Jim Aitcheson. “As residents, we are expected to help fund the acquisition of high-tech equipment and facilities and the Perth South Council stepped up when asked."
