Area food banks to split $10K donation

UBC Local 2222, Kincardine's United Brotherhood of Carpenters, has donated $10,000 to four food banks across Grey, Bruce, Huron, and Perth Counties.

"These are difficult times for many families, and we believe it is our responsibility to give back to the communities that have supported us," said Ryan Plante, UBC Local 2222 Coordinator.

"We hope that this donation helps alleviate some of the challenges our neighbours face and reinforces the importance of solidarity during times of need," he added.

The donation will be distributed equally among the following food banks:

  • Salvation Army Food Bank - Grey County

  • Kincardine Ministerial Food Bank - Bruce County

  • Huron County Food Bank - Huron County

  • Stratford House of Blessing - Perth County

The union hopes that its donation inspires others to give where they can as well.
