Documentary that looks past stigma of drug use coming to Owen Sound

The Supportive Outreach Services (SOS) program and its partners are bringing a documentary looking into the courage of and tragedy faced by injection drug users.

Love in the Time of Fentanyl will be shown on December 7 at 9:30 a.m. at the Roxy Theatre. Two more screenings will take place at Grey Roots Museum on December 21 at 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

According to the United Way Bruce Grey, the documentary features safe injection sites, the opioid crisis, and how a community can come together to save lives in Vancouver.

A discussion panel will follow the viewings. Registration is required for showings at Grey Roots Museum.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
