Chippewas of Nawash councillor scores big lottery win

A councillor for the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation recently won $100,000 playing the instant lottery.

Beverly Nadjiwon said he was playing the Big Spin Instant game with his cat, and when he saw the prize amount, he had to double check because it was so unbelievable.

“When I confirmed it on the OLG app I was in a little bit of shock and surprise," said Nadjiwon. "It was the moment my cat became my lucky cat.”

The 59-year-old of Neyaashiinigmiing says he plans on upgrading his vehicle and exploring a new part of the world.

The winning ticket was purchased at Lloyd’s Smoke Shop on Berford Street in Wiarton.
