Unlicensed driver charged in stolen vehicle rollover

Charges have been laid after an unlicensed driver allegedly rolled a stolen vehicle in Owen Sound.

Emergency services responded to a single vehicle rollover on the evening of December 4. When they got there, police found the vehicle had been reported stolen earlier in the day to the Grey Bruce OPP.

It was found laying on the drivers side, with several empty and full beer cans in and around the vehicle.

Police say the driver climbed out of the vehicle and ran from the scene. Three passengers stayed behind, and one was taken to hospital with suspected minor injuries.

The 22-year-old driver was found in the area and is facing several charges related to impaired driving, fleeing an accident, and possession of a stolen vehicle. They did not sustain major injuries.
