Three youths charged in Collingwood armed robbery

Ontario Provincial Police in Collingwood and The Blue Mountains have filed charges against three teens in connection to an armed robbery incident in downtown Collingwood on Monday.

On December 5, 2023, around 3:20 p.m., three suspects entered a jewelry store, discharging a firearm during the process. Shortly after, they fled the scene in a dark-colored SUV. No injuries were reported among the store employees.

Police followed info from Toronto Police Services about a reported stolen vehicle that was discovered in a field near County Road 124 and the 30/31 Sideroad, south of Nottawa. A ground search ensued, and after several hours, all three suspects were apprehended without incident.

The charged individuals, a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old from Brampton and a 17-year-old from Whitby, face charges including Robbery Using a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Flight From Peace Officer, and Discharge of a Firearm in a Reckless Manner. Due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, their identities cannot be disclosed.

All three remain in custody.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
