Charges laid following assault

Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges against a 44-year-old man in connection to an assault that took place in Seaforth.

Police said that they responded to a home at 8 p.m. on November 29, following the report of an assault.

Investigators determined that the suspect had an edged weapon and threatened the victim. Police confirm that the victim sustained minor injuries during the incident.

The suspect was arrested and faces charges of assault causing bodily harm - choking, assault with a weapon, and uttering threats to cause bodily harm or death.

He is scheduled to appear in court in Goderich on January 29.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
