Assault charges laid following investigation

Huron County OPP have charged a 57-year-old following a recent assault.

OnNovember 29 just after 6 p.m., police were called to a residence in the Town of Seaforth after an alleged assault had taken place outside the home.

A victim received minor injuries during the altercation. Police determined the victim was threatened by the suspect, who left the scene. The suspect was located a short time later and placed under arrest.

As a result, a 57-year-old of no fixed address has been charged with Assault and Uttering Threats to Cause Bodily Harm or Death.

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing and later released with an appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich on January 8th, 2024.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
