COVID outbreaks declared at two local hospitals

A COVID outbreak has been declared at both the Listowel Memorial Hospital and the Stratford General Hospital.

The Huron Perth Public Healthcare Alliance says the outbreak is in Integrated Stroke & Telemetry Unit at the Stratford General Hospital

According to the Listowel Wingham Hospital Alliance, their outbreak is on the first floor of the building.

The HPHA says patients in the unit are only allowed one visitor per day in order to manage the outbreak.

“We’d like remind our community members to please not visit a patient at any of our hospital sites if you are feeling unwell,” says Erica Jensen, Manager Quality, Patient Safety and Infection Control.

A masking mandate is in place at clinical areas of both hospitals during the respiratory illness season.
