St. Marys Emergency Department to close

There will be another temporary Emergency Department (ED) closure on Saturday night.

The St. Marys Memorial Hospital ED will close at 5 p.m. Saturday and reopen at 7 a.m. on Sunday.

The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance announced that the closure is due to a staffing shortage.

Paramedics will remain available to the community and will re-route to the nearest available Emergency Department to ensure local residents continue to have access to emergency services.

The closest 24-hour Emergency Departments to the St. Marys Memorial Hospital are:

  • Stratford – HPHA – Stratford General Hospital

  • Exeter – South Huron Hospital

  • Ingersoll – Alexandra Hospital

  • London – LHSC – University Hospital or Victoria Hospital

For non-urgent healthcare needs, patients are encouraged to visit their family doctor or call Health Connect Ontario at 811.
