United Way campaign a bit behind

United Way Perth-Huron is a bit behind in their fundraising campaign this year.

The fundraising campaign, which raises money that helps the most vulnerable people across Perth and Huron, is behind 16 percent compared to this time last year.

A release from United Way and UWPH Executive Director, Ryan Erb, shares that the campaign goals are bigger this year to meet increasing needs locally, but that cost uncertainty and the cost of living constantly rising is affecting everyone, including the ability to donate during the holiday season.

The UWPH campaign raises funds for Connection Centres in Stratford, Exeter and Wingham, the Urgent Needs Fund, supporting individuals and families in a time of immediate need with financial support for rent arrears, winter clothes, groceries and more. Also there's the new United Housing initiative meant to help address the housing crisis locally, and 40-plus local partners and services that benefit from the support of UWPH.

To donate, call 519-271-7730 or 1-877-818-8867, mail to 32 Erie Street, Stratford, ON N5A 2M4 or visit perthhuron.unitedway.ca
