Fatal collision in Georgian Bluffs

A pedestrian has perished after being hit by a vehicle along Highway 6 this morning.

Emergency services responded to a serious collision around 6 a.m.

Grey Bruce OPP say initial reports indicated that a motor vehicle and a pedestrian had collided, and the pedestrian had suffered serious injuries.

A 47-year-old individual from South Bruce Peninsula was transported to Brightshores Health System where they were pronounced dead.

Highway 6 North from Springmount to Grey Road 17 was closed for investigation, but police say it has since reopened.

The investigation is ongoing.

The Grey Bruce OPP is asking anyone who was driving in the area with dashcam or has information related to this collision to call 1-888-310-1122.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
