Temporary Emergency Room closures in Chesley and Durham

Staffing issues have affected opening hours at two local emergency departments. South Bruce Grey Health Centre has announced the Chesley Emergency Department is closed and will not reopen until Wednesday, January 3rd at 7:00 AM.

The Durham Emergency Department will be closed on Monday, January 1st at 5:00 PM, reopening on Tuesday, January 2nd at 7:00 AM. And then again on Tuesday, January 2nd at 5:00 PM, reopening on Wednesday, January 3rd at 7:00 AM

Both closures are due to staffing shortages. Ambulance by-pass has been undertaken to divert patients to the nearest open ED.

Anyone requiring immediate medical attention should call 911 to be taken to the nearest Emergency Department.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
