OPP reminding residents to check seasonal properties after theft

The Grey Bruce OPP are reminding people to check all seasonal properties in the off-season following yet another tool theft.

On January 2, police responded to the scene of a break and enter on Bruce Road 13 between Pashwood Drive and Ah Sineese Crescent in Saugeen First Nation. It was determined that, sometime between December 30, 2023, and January 2, 2024, a Stihl 16 foot chainsaw, Stihl 20 foot chainsaw, Stihl gas leaf blower, Dewalt skill saw, Dewalt drill, and a Dewalt flashlight were stolen from the home.

Anyone who owns a seasonal property should check it, or have a trusted person check it, daily to make sure everything remains locked up. Anyone who lives near or in cottages is asked to report all suspicious activity.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
