One charged after collision closes Bruce County road

Bruce Road 1 was closed for several hours Wednesday after a vehicle carrying cylinders of compressed gas crashed.

South Bruce OPP responded to a report of a single vehicle collision around 4:15 p.m.

Officers arrived to find a delivery truck had left the roadway and come to rest in the ditch near the intersection of Bruce County Road 1 and Concession 11.

There were no injuries reported at the scene.

Police called firefighters to the scene after they discovered the delivery vehicle was carrying cylinders of compressed gas.

Bruce Road 1 was closed between Concession 9 and Bruce Road 15 for several hours as a result. It has since re-opened to traffic.

As a result of the incident, a 44-year-old Stratford resident was charged with failing to stop at a stop sign.
