Two Stratford robbery suspects caught

The Stratford Police Service says two suspects have been apprehended in connection with last week's smash and grab robbery of a local jewellery store.

The Niagara Regional Police arrested two men on Thursday, January 4 on an unrelated matter. They found the two men were in possession of items stolen on January 3 from the Paris Jewellers in Stratford.

The 21-year-olds of no fixed address now face robbery charges, in addition to numerous charges laid by Niagara Police. They remain in custody there.

Stratford Police say $135,000 worth of jewellery has been recovered. However, an unknown quantity is still outstanding, as are two suspects that have yet to be identified in connection with the January 3 robbery.

Anyone with information on their identity is asked to contact Stratford Police at 519-271-4141 or report anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
