Man arrested after multiple incidents of theft, trespassing

Owen Sound Police arrested a 32-year-old of no fixed address after reports they were entering unlocked garages and vehicles in the west end of town.

On Thursday around 4:30 a.m., police say they began getting calls about a suspicious male who was observed trespassing near numerous homes between 10th Street West and 14th Street West.

Police said with the assistance of witnesses and home surveillance systems, they were able to identify, locate and arrest a suspect on 14th Street West. Their investigation showed that a man trespassed at a minimum of 19 residences and stole property from garages and unlocked vehicles. Numerous items of property were allegedly found in the man's possession upon arrest.

The suspect was on probation at the time of the incident and has been charged with 31 Criminal offences.

He was held in custody for a bail hearing and was subsequently remanded into custody.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
