Crime Stoppers pays off in Grey Bruce

Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce continues to help solve cases and recover stolen property.

In 2023, the program supplied 800 tips to police in Grey and Bruce Counties. That led officers to the recovery of over $160,000 worth of stolen property and the seizure of nearly $100,000 worth of drugs and proceeds.

January is Crime Stoppers Awareness Month and the theme is "Be a Crimestopper." The Crime Stoppers program provides concerned citizens with an anonymous channel to report criminal activity. If tip information is accurate and leads to an arrest or the recovery of drugs or stolen property, the tipster may be eligible for a cash reward up to $2,000.

Since the program began locally in 1987, tips led to the seizure or recovery of over $55 million in drugs, cash, and property in Grey Bruce.

People can report tips to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), downloading the free P3 Tips mobile app, or making an online web tip at www.cstip.ca.
