Arrest made following stolen pick-up, other suspect still at large

Hanover Police Service has arrested one suspect following the theft of a pick-up truck.

On January 18 at 12:15 p.m., Hanover Police Service arrested a 29-year-old from Chatsworth, with assistance from West Grey Police Service, for possession of a stolen pick-up truck.

A passenger in the vehicle, a 28-year old male of no fixed address, remains at large, however, warrants are being sought for his arrest.

The truck was stolen earlier from Meaford. Police seized illicit drugs that were determined to be for trafficking purposes from the accused. That included cocaine with an estimated street value of $700 and fentanyl with an estimated street value of $8,400, along with break-in tools and other stolen property.

Both of the accused are facing a lengthy list of charges. Hanover Police are encouraging the other suspect that remains at large to turn themselves in to police.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
