Charges laid after disturbance involving a weapon

Police have laid charges after a recent disturbance that involved an assault with a weapon.

South Bruce OPP responded on January 21, at 12:09 p.m., to the 300 block of Queen Street in Kincardine for reports of a disturbance.

Officers arrived alongside Bruce County EMS and found an individual who had been injured with an edged weapon.

One person was taken into custody without incident. The 41-year-old Kincardine resident who was arrested has been charged with assault with a weapon and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

The accused remains in custody pending the results of a show cause hearing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
