Plans to clear excess snow in downtown Owen Sound

The City of Owen Sound is warning motorists to remove their vehicles from parking spaces in the downtown core for excess snow removal operations.

City staff will begin work to clear out excess snow at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24.

Vehicles need to be out of the way to all access to snow removal equipment. Winter overnight parking restrictions are in place. Vehicles interfering with snow removal activities may be towed.

City staff will be posting signage indicating snow-clearing operations are ongoing. Drivers and pedestrians are asked to be aware of their surroundings when traveling in these areas.

Snow removal operations in the downtown area are an essential part of the city’s efforts to keep the streets and sidewalks clear and passable for residents, as well as emergency vehicles.
