Search warrant yields wanted individual and stolen truck

Huron County OPP have made an arrest and recovered a stolen truck following the execution of a search warrant.

The investigation was conducted by the Huron-Perth OPP Community Street Crimes Unit and members of the Huron County OPP Major Crime Unit.

On December 15, 2023, officers investigated after an individual who was known to police failed to stop for officers in Clinton. A warrant was issued for the suspect's arrest.

On January 18, 2024, police executed a search warrant at an address in Auburn. The wanted individual attempted to escape, but was arrested soon after. Police also recovered a stolen 2017 Dodge pickup truck from London during the arrest.

A 43-year-old of no fixed address now faces a lengthy list of charges.

The accused was processed, held for a bail hearing, and remanded into custody with a court appearance scheduled in the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
