Break-in theft at business under investigation

A break-in at a local business that resulted in items being stolen is under investigation.

It was reported to Wellington County OPP that a break-in occurred at a retail business in Mount Forest on Main Street South at 2 a.m. on January 16.

An unknown suspect forced their way into the business, and stole cash, jewelry and a distinguishable, 7.6kg amethyst stone.

Police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the person observed in surveillance footage.

Anyone who may have information is encouraged to contact Wellington County OPP or Crime Stoppers.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
