WCDSB preparing temporary site with Mount Forest school closed

After a fire on Thursday, a Mount Forest school is going to be closed for the foreseeable future.

The Wellington Catholic District School Board says that St. Mary Catholic School requires repair and restoration, and will not be available to students until that is completed.

At this point, the timeline for the work is undetermined.

The school board is asking parents to make childcare arrangements for students next week, as they work to secure temporary accommodations to resume in-person learning as soon as possible. An update on the temporary site should be shared early next week.

In order to reduce the disruption to learning through this transition, staff are preparing to provide technology to families and provide on-line learning support.

The board says more information about technology pick-up and on-line learning will also be available early next week.
