Hanover Police catch suspect that evaded them in December

The Hanover Police Service have arrested a suspect who fled from officers a month prior.

Police say on December 13, 2023, around 1:30 a.m., officers attempted to stop a snowmobile at the intersection of 10th Street and 13th Avenue in the Town of Hanover.

The driver allegedly didn't stop and instead fled at a high rate of speed, failing to stop for a red light and several stop signs.

Police say they did not initiate a pursuit for public safety reasons.

Following an investigation, officers identified the driver as a 36-year-old West Grey man.

On Monday, the suspect was located in Hanover and arrested without incident.

He was later released from custody with a scheduled appearance in Walkerton Court facing charges of Flight from Police, Operation While Prohibited and Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance.
