Driver suffers serious injuries in collision near Fergus

Wellington Road 18 will be closed well into the evening as police investigate a serious collision that left one driver with life-threatening injuries.

Emergency services responded to a call around 12:45 p.m. on Wellington Road 18, east of Fergus.

Wellington County OPP said a black SUV had left the roadway, and the 47-year-old Mount Forest driver was seriously injured.

They were taken to local hospital.

The West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (T.I.M.E.) team expect to have the roadway closed till dusk.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation and anyone with information related to it is asked to call 1-888-310-1122.
