High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Huron County OPP say that Hwy 21 has reopened after a fatal crash on Wednesday morning.Emergency services responded to a collision between a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle around 7 a.m. on March 13. The crash occurred just north of Sararas Road in the Municipality of Bluewater.According to police, the driver of the passenger vehicle, a 58-year-old from Bluewater, lost their life as a result of the crash.The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.OPP say the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding the collision should contact them at 519-482-1677.
