Three dead in second Huron County fatal collision

Three people have died following a collision between a car and a pickup truck in Howick.

Emergency responders were called just before 5:30 p.m. on March 14 to Harriston Road, just north of C Line Road.

Huron County OPP say both vehicles were heavily damaged and two of the occupants were pronounced dead at the scene.

A third person was taken to the hospital by ambulance where they succumbed to their injuries.

"This is the second tragic collision in two days to occur on Huron County roadways," said Constable Craig Soldan, community safety and media relations officer. "Our thoughts are with the families of those that lost their lives."

The driver of the involved car has been identified as a 29-year-old resident of North Huron Township.

The second driver and passenger of the involved pickup truck have been identified as 67- and 59-year-old residents of Howick Township.

Harriston Road was closed for several hours as the investigation continued.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
