High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Saugeen Shores' council has approved repairs to shore protections at Dominion Lookout in Southampton.The town said work will take place next to the park on the west end of Millard Boulevard.Crews will fix erosion damage along the shoreline, including repairing and stabilizing the shore protection, re-laying brickworks, and landscaping around the Canada flag.While the work is being completed, vehicle, bike, and pedestrian access will be restricted with the potential to be removed altogether.The work is expected to take around six weeks. Dominion Lookout is closed and restricted access will be in place until approximately May 15.
