Search warrant results in seizure of drugs

The Grey Bruce OPP arrested and charged two Meaford residents following the execution of a search warrant.

On March 27 just after 5 a.m., the Grey Bruce Community Street Crime Unit and Grey Bruce OPP executed a search warrant at a property on Concession Road 2 North in the Municipality of Meaford. They were assisted by the Huron Perth CSCU, members of the Tactics & Rescue Unit and West Region Emergency Response Team.

Officers seized quantities of cocaine, ketamine, crack cocaine, Canadian currency, drug paraphernalia and firearms. The value of the seized substances is $300,000.

As a result, two Meaford natives, a 45-year-old and a 59-year-old, are both facing a lengthy list of charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking and unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm.

Both of the accused were held pending a bail hearing.
