Owen Sound man wins half a million with Lotto Max

Bill Croft cleaned up in the January 16 Lotto Max draw, as the Owen Sound custodian won a Maxmillions prize worth $500,000.

Croft told OLG while in Toronto collecting his winnings that he regularly plays Lotto Max.

"I usually play my own numbers, but this prize was won on a Quick Pick. This is my first big win," he said. "I went to the store to check my ticket using the ticket checker. My heart was pounding, and my hands were shaking. I gave the ticket to the store clerk to check, and I was so shocked I couldn't even speak. I went home and yelled, 'Yahoo!' My wife was so excited!"

Croft says this is a wonderful chance to bolster his retirement fund and plans to put some of this win aside to treat himself and his wife.

"I feel good. I'm very happy and thankful for this win. I never thought I'd win something like this," he said.

The winning ticket was purchased at Clark’s of Silcote on 3rd Avenue in Owen Sound.
